That’s why we’re committed to keeping costs to compete down while making sure that our titleholders aren’t out of pocket just for the privilege of representing World’s Fascinating Miss.
There are some expenses that every contestant has to shoulder regardless: transportation to and from the pageant venue, their wardrobe, and any extras they choose such as hair/makeup vendors, additional meals, etc.
While some things can’t have a price tag placed on them like “memories that will last a lifetime”, we believe that any prizes that require a newly crowned titleholder to spend money to redeem them aren’t actually a prize. When we consulted our focus group, they were unanimous that “discounts for things you have to pay for are just coupons” and not worth competing for. We agree. Regalia that is received as part of a titleholder’s coronation, while absolutely expected, can’t really be considered to have a monetary value as part of a prize package. Likewise any flowers or trophies/commemorative items.
