2022 Update

As you may know, the events of 2020 put the World’s Fascinating Miss pageant on temporary hold. In the wake of the loss of Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst, the directors of World’s Fascinating Miss have been reflecting on how we can make our mission: “making a difference in the world of pageantry, one crown at a time” even more of a priority and industry disruptor. Our platform RAVE: Respect And Value Everyone has not and will not change. We believe it’s even more necessary in these trying times.

Some things that will be changing:

While we believe that each age division as previously defined was an appropriate breakdown, due to the nature of being a titleholder and the responsibilities that go along with it, it is more appropriate to modify age divisions as follows:

Ages 4-12: Little Miss Fascinating
We believe this age group should act their age and enjoy their childhood. There is no reason to try and grow up too soon. This age division will not be required to post on social media and, in fact, we strongly advise parents against posting. The pageant office will manage this social media account and curate its content. Appearances will be minimal and should consist mainly of participating in community events in an age-appropriate manner.

Ages 13-20: World’s Fascinating Miss
These young women are the leaders of the future and are at their most vulnerable to outside pressure. World’s Fascinating Miss believes that family and education come before appearances. Social media posting will be minimal and should be curated by parent/guardian for titleholders aged 13-17. Titleholders 18+ may manage their own official account if they choose, however, if they prefer a social media manager/momager so they can focus on what is truly important in life, then we support that decision 100%. Due to the age range of participants, this group may be broken down into World’s Fascinating Jr Miss (13-17) and Miss (18-20) should there be a larger number of entrants.

21& up+: World’s Fascinating Woman
These women are actively changing the world and we believe there is no “best buy” date on that. We also believe that body art, gender assigned at birth, sexual orientation, marital status, and parental status have no bearing on how a titleholder can make a difference in the world around them. Because we understand the responsibilities of adulthood, social media posting for this age group will also be minimal. We want you to be making a difference, but we don’t want photo ops to be your focus.

World’s Fascinating Miss isn’t looking for “picture perfect”. We’re looking for the perfect person for the job. We believe that World’s Fascinating Miss is a person who is real. She has real school/life issues. She is kind and honest. Maybe she has to work to afford to compete. Maybe she doesn’t have the time or transportation to always be working on a community service project. That does not mean she doesn’t love her community or want to help. Maybe she has anxiety or depression or is working up the courage to ask if a project or service needs help. Whatever her story is, it deserves to be heard.

Appearances:
We do ask that any appearances in crown and/or sash and public behavior while wearing WFM regalia be rated PG as our titleholders are examples for their sister queens and others. There is no prohibition of tattoos or piercings and neither should they be covered unless the delegate feels more confident doing so. There will be no required number of appearances for 2022. All we ask is that you make a difference in your community in whatever way you can.

For all age divisions, we want to get to know the REAL you. You won’t be asked stupid questions. We don’t want to waste your time. What makes you proud? What is most important to you? What are you most fascinated by? What is something you’ve always wanted to do?

Because the world is still re-learning how to event safely, live events will be paused for 2022 with a tentative return in 2023. Required competitions for live events are being redesigned for the safety and consideration of all participants. For 2022, a tentative virtual event is planned for National Make A Difference Day, October 22nd.

For this virtual event, there will be two phases of competition: Interview and Presentation. Interview will be a recorded Zoom-style interview where the panel of judges and the audience will get to know you better. For attire, we simply ask that you wear something you’d wear to an interview. Presentation is best defined as “What do you want the world to know?” This is your opportunity to fascinate with the outfit you feel most confident in while speaking about a topic that is dear to your heart. You will record your Presentation and submit it to the pageant office by the deadline so that the show can be edited for broadcast.

Due to the nature of the competition and lack of corporate sponsors due to continued worldwide shortages and ongoing travel issues, the planned prize packages will be scaled accordingly along with entry fees.

Our queens will still receive the following prizes from the national office:
• Custom embroidered satin sash with crystal rhinestone trim
• Unique jewelry-quality round crown
• Queen’s Headshot (subject to photographer availability)
• Official World’s Fascinating Miss autograph cards
• A selection of Avon products courtesy of Regally Beautiful
• Special gifts throughout her year of service
• Featured in marketing and social media campaigns

Please bear with us as we navigate these changes and update our social media and internet presence.
